ESD TABLE MATS STANDARDSIZES
SafeGuard Premium ESD table mats comply with DIN EN 61340, are RoHS compliant and have high heat and solder resistance. The anti-reflective surface guarantees optimal protection at the workplace. You can get our ESD table mats in standard sizes in different colors, with and without snap fastener or as a ready-made ESD mat set.
ESD TABLE COVER
In addition to the standard sizes, our ESD table covering range also includes rolls or meters in various colors and dimensions. Each roll is 10 meters long and varies in width and height. Like the standard ESD table mats, the table coverings also comply with DIN EN 61340 and are also RoHS-compliant.
ESD TABLE MATS CONFIGURATOR
With the help of our configurator, you can configure an ESD table mat yourself and have it cut to size. In addition to entering the exact dimensions to the millimetre, you can also select the colour, material, press stud placement and cut-outs. After completion, you will receive an offer for your table mat cut. This is done directly in our own production.
WHAT IS ESD?
ESD stands for the abbreviation "Electro Static Discharge". According to this, ESD can cause an electrical overload on electronic components and damage them. ESD protection zones, so-called EPA (Electrostatic Protected Area), offer effective protection against damage caused by electrostatic discharge. In this special protected area, all precautions are taken to be able to work with electrostatically sensitive components without damaging them. An EPA equipped according to the minimum requirements of DIN EN 61340-5-1 includes the following areas:

Why are ESD table mats so important?
Sensitive devices such as computers, circuit boards or even data carriers can be damaged by overvoltages. Surges are caused by simple friction, especially in very dry room air. The voltage caused by the employee can be transferred to electrical devices. In this case, a discharge occurs, which can release several hundred or even thousands of volts. Dissipative mats have a voltage-resistant resistor that provides a discharge. Ideally, an earthing cable is connected to the ESD table mat, through which electrical voltages are absorbed on the one hand and discharged on the other via a special ESD earthing module.
Our SafeGuard ESD table mats all comply with DIN EN 61340 and are also RoHS-compliant - "Restriction of (the use of certain) Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic Equipment". The aim of this EC directive is to protect human health and the environment by avoiding six substances - heavy metals and brominated flame retardants/plasticisers. Especially with regard to the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment in an EPA, this directive is of particular importance.
