What is the difference between axial and radial components?
Axial components have connecting wires at both ends of the component body and are usually mounted horizontally on the PCB. Typical examples are resistors or diodes in THT design. Radial components have the connections on one side, allowing vertical mounting. This design is often used for electrolytic capacitors, coils or certain sensors. The design influences assembly, space requirements and processing methods in electronics production.
When are component counters used in electronics production?
Component counters are used for precise quantity recording of small electronic components, especially for SMD components on reels or tape packaging. They support warehouse management, material control and production preparation in electronics manufacturing. Automatic counting systems reduce errors in manual stocktaking and enable large quantities of small components to be recorded quickly with high repeat accuracy.
When are cutting and bending machines used for components?
Cutting and bending machines are used in THT production to precisely process connecting wires to defined lengths and grid dimensions. This allows components to be reproducibly assembled and mechanical stresses on the PCB to be reduced. Typical applications include resistors, diodes and axial capacitors.
