Why are convection ovens used in electronics production?
Air circulation ovens are used to dry moisture-sensitive components in a controlled manner before the soldering process. This reduces the risk of delamination or popcorning effects during reflow or soldering processes.
When do electronic components need to be dried?
Component drying is necessary if permissible storage times have been exceeded or components have been stored outside of controlled dry storage. MSD components with high moisture absorption are particularly sensitive.
What role do accessories such as trays play in drying and heating cabinets?
Shelves enable structured storage of electronic components inside drying and heating ovens. They improve air circulation, material access and even temperature distribution during drying or storage processes. A suitable internal partitioning supports stable process conditions, especially for SMD reels and sensitive assemblies.
Why do doors for drying and heating ovens have an inspection window?
Inspection windows allow visual inspection of stored components without having to open the enclosure. This maintains controlled temperature and humidity conditions within the system. At the same time, the storage status, material inventory or drying processes can be checked more quickly without unnecessarily exposing sensitive electronic components to ambient air.
