Who is behind the SafeGuard brand?
SafeGuard is Weidinger's own brand for products in the field of ESD protection.
The range includes a broad spectrum of products that are designed to meet the requirements of electrostatically sensitive production and work areas. The aim is to provide reliable ESD solutions that can be integrated into existing work processes and enable electrostatically protected areas (EPA) to be equipped in accordance with standards.
The SafeGuard portfolio includes ESD clothing, ESD flooring, ESD table mats, wrist straps and workplace accessories such as conductive containers, ESD gloves and grounding accessories. The products are selected on the basis of applicable standards, in particular DIN EN 61340-5-1, which regulates the requirements for the protection of electronic components against electrostatic discharge, and the practical experience of our customers and experts.
Our universally applicable floor mats fulfil both electrical and mechanical requirements and are available in various designs under the SafeGuard brand.
The range is supplemented by pre-assembled or configurable ESD table mats - the SafeGuard top seller.
SafeGuard also offers a selection of ESD wristbands and grounding cables that are suitable for both permanent workstations and mobile applications. Practical sets are also available that are tailored to typical workplace requirements.
All SafeGuard products are tested for their technical properties and selected with a view to their use in industrial environments before being included in the range. The focus is on a practical combination of electrical functionality, durability and compatibility with other ESD components.

How can damage caused by ESD be avoided?
Damage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD) can be avoided by setting up sensitive areas as EPAs (Electrostatic Protected Areas) and implementing standardised protective measures. These include conductive floor coverings, earthed workstations and suitable personal protective equipment. Regular inspections and training ensure long-term effectiveness. Always treat all components as ESD endangered!
Only process or handle electronic components in the ESD protection zone (EPA) in accordance with the ESD protection guidelines!
Only store and transport ESD-sensitive components outside the EPA in appropriate packaging (shielded) and only open the packaging with the ESD protective measures.
