What is a dual study programme?

A dual study programme combines an academic university education with practical work in a company. You alternate in a fixed rhythm between theoretical phases at the international university of cooperative education (iba) and practical phases at Weidinger. This allows academic knowledge to be applied directly in real work contexts.

We involve dual students in projects, processes and responsibilities at an early stage. You will already receive a salary during your studies, gain relevant work experience and have very good chances of being taken on.

Which degree programmes do we offer?

From October 2026, we at Weidinger in Gernlinden are looking for motivated, independently working talents who have at least their vocational baccalaureate in their pocket and are ready to immerse themselves in the exciting world of dual study programmes.

The application process is completed via ibaCareer.com. There, you create a profile and upload the following documents:

  • Your most recent school report

  • Your CV (a template is available directly on the platform)

You need one of the following qualifications:

  • General university entrance qualification (Abitur)

  • Subject-specific university entrance qualification

  • University of applied sciences entrance qualification

  • Completed vocational training (minimum 3 years, final grade ≤ 2.5)

The dual study program begins on October 1, 2026.

The standard period of study is three years (6 semesters).

The program is offered both on campus and virtually.

No, there is no numerus clausus (NC) at iba.

The week is divided into full study days:

  • 20 hours per week at the company

  • 2 days per week of study
